Staying safe online is really important as a webcam model, and by putting just a few small things in place, can ensure that your privacy is protected.
Do not give out personal information
This sounds like a really obvious one, but it's so important. We ask all of our models to create a new name for themselves, which should be completely different to your real name. Only your model name should be used when interacting with clients.
At no point should you ever share your real name, address, phone number or bank details with anyone. It doesn't matter how well you think you know a client, you should never reveal any personal information about yourself.
Many models choose to have a separate phone number which they use for work. That way if you do want to share your number with a client, your privacy is still protected.
Be vague with the details
It can be easy to get caught up in a conversation with a client, but just be mindful about discussing any topics that might lead you to reveal personal information about yourself. This might include where you're going shopping at the weekend, events you are attending, or recent events that have happened where you live. Always be vague and don't mention specific places.
Take a check of your surroundings
Be mindful of your cam space, and what is in view on screen for a client to see. Make sure that there is nothing that could give away any personal information, or anything that can reveal your location, such as a street sign for example.
Social media
Social media can be a great way to promote yourself as a webcam model. However we would strongly recommend that you set up separate social media accounts for model work. We would also recommend that you set your personal accounts to private.
Make sure that on your work account you don't include any personal information, and that you don't link to any of your personal accounts.
Do not post anything on your work account, which you have previously posted on your personal account, as this can easily be traced back.
