What equipment do you need as a webcam model?

The minimum equipment requirements for starting out are a laptop with a webcam or a smartphone or tablet.

The majority of our models use a laptop, and find that this is easier than using a phone, so it's worth investing in a laptop if you can.

Webcam

The quality of inbuilt laptop webcams can really vary, so we would suggest investing in a high quality HD webcam as soon as you can. This will make a significant difference to the quality of your live stream.

Lighting

Lighting is really important and has a massive impact on the quality of your video. It's no good camming in a dark room, as you won't be visible on cam. Natural light is best, but if you're camming during the evening, make sure your room is well lit. It's a good idea to invest in a ring light. When starting out you can use a clip-on selfie light which you can pick up from Amazon for around £7. You can then upgrade at a later date.

Outfits

When first starting out it’s fine to just wear your regular clothes / pjs / underwear. A lot of clients like the ‘girl-next-door’ look. You can tailor your outfits to match your on cam persona, and play up to this. It's good to have a selection of outfits so you can mix things up. Silk robes work well, and can be used to tease a client. A lot of clients love roleplay, so it's a good idea to have a selection of themed outfits. Popular requests are: school girl, secretary, nurse, maid, PVC, gym, slutty dress.

Toys and props

It's not essential to have toys when you're first starting out, but it's a good idea to invest in some when you can. Don't worry about buying every possible toy going, just buy one or two to start with and you can always add more as you go.
