How to make it as a successful webcam model?

We spoke to model Jamie to find out first hand what it takes to become a successful webcam model.

How long have you been a webcam model?

I’ve been working full time as a webcam model for just under 4 years.

How much do you earn each week?

I aim to make £1,000 a week. Sometimes it’s more, sometimes it’s a bit less.

How many hours do you work a week?

20-25 hours a week

What are your top tips to make it as a successful webcam model?

It’s really important to make sure you have the right tools. Your webcam is pretty much the most important piece of equipment you can invest in. Clients expect to see high quality video, and with lots of competition on the site you really need to make sure you don’t miss out by having poor picture quality. You don’t need to spend a fortune, but do make sure you invest in a good quality HD camera.

Your attitude and mind set really does have a huge impact on how successful you will be at cam. You have to be prepared to work. You can make amazing money working as a webcam model but it’s not a get rich quick scheme. You still have to work hard and put the time and commitment into it.

Being consistent is really important. I set myself a schedule for the week and make sure I stick to it. Also be consistent with the times you log in. This really helps when it comes to building up your regular clients.

Think about your room set up. Especially when it comes to lighting. The lighting in the room also impacts your video quality. Natural light is ideal, but you should also look at investing in a selfie light or ring light to really make yourself stand out.

Most models cam from their bedroom which is fine. Just make sure that your room is clean and tidy and that there is no mess or clutter in the background to distract from you.

Most of all be patient. When you’re first starting out it can seem a bit daunting. But take your time. Success doesn’t happen over night, but if you put the time and effort in it will soon pay off.
